How to take off carburator daihatsu hijet

Hi there, a newbie here who is still trying to do some things by himself. Been learning the ins and out of doing some DIY mechanical work on my Daihatsu Hijet. I am in the process of removing the carburetor and would love some advise from you experts.

It is a good approach to learn your vehicle first hand instead of having a mechanic do the work every time. And the kei trucks not being popular everywhere, you are better off learning to fix everything. But as always, we start somewhere.

As for how to take off carburetor whether you want to do some service or rebuild, there are some steps that you ought to follow. And to do that, I thought that the best way to face it would be through the use of a video. Below, I have attached a video which will help you to take off the carburetor for servicing. I hope it helps you. Let us know how it goes.

At present, which model are you having? Is it Hijet s83p?

There are only two bolts holding the carburettor, one 12 mm bolt at the top right at the front of carb and an extended allen keyed one at bottom left at the rear. Try to locate it with the help of a small mirror.

I have come across few carburetor repair kits in eBay. Hope it helps!

Removing Carburator will be challenging. Even if you remove them, assembling them back would be a great challenge. Would suggest you visit your local mechanic or someone who has good knowledge of servicing and repairing. Observe how he does the work and try to do it the next time if you are interested.

Locating the bolts are challenging in this process. Referring videos relating to it would be helpful.
