How do i tell the year of my daihatsu hijet?

How can I tell which year a particular Daihatsu Hijet Japanese mini truck model is? I am still new to the mini trucks and sure that its the norm at this stage to not know year models of kei trucks. Are there certain things to look at or should I be following by checking and referencing with the chassis number or something.

The Kei trucks from these two are both made in Japan. And although Daihatsu and Suzuki are different companies that operate differently, it should be noted that they are both excellent at what they do and the vehicles that they are exceptional by market standards. They have been around for many decades and their tough competition has seen each of these automakers come up with excellent vehicles that stand out.

By comparison, there isn’t much separating the Suzuki Carry and Daihatsu Hijet in terms of performance and usability. They are pretty much even when it comes to the usage and also in many other aspects. Some other people may have their objective views, also depending on the mini truck model year. So, as much as it may be subjective, you could enjoy the same level of service and performance from either choosing the Suzuki Carry or the Daihatsu Hijet.

Usually the 10th character in the 17-character VIN represents the vehicle model-year. This standard applies to vehicles built in or after 1981.

You should be able to find a stamping under the seat on the right hand side where the back pocket would be. Typically, it is stamped under the seat, on the flat closest to the door. Also you can tilt the seat mount up to expose the engine compartment and look on the top surface. You might find a plate with some info at the front surface of the rear doorframe of the side door.

Usually, it is stamped under the seat, on the flat closest to the door, on the right-hand side. After identifying the VIN number you can search it online to know the year of production or you can see the 10th digit of VIN represents the year of manufacturing.

The car's vehicle identification number (VIN) is the identifying code for a specific automobile. It is composed of 17 characters that act as a unique identifier for the vehicle. So, the 10th character in the 17-character VIN represents the vehicle model-year.

Hijet VIN is underneath the drivers seat between the seat and the sill. Riveted metal plate held by two silver rivets.
