Cancelling Road noise

Is there any way to reduce the road noise successfully? Has anyone experienced it? What are the ways to cancel the road noise?

Street noise especially blaring of horns, noise from tires and wind noise are main reasons of street noise for vehicle users. Road noise together with wind noise are two of the biggest culprits when it comes to comfort and sound quality in vehicles. No wonder it's frustrating and maddening for people inside the vehicle. Its not absolutely impossible to reduce outside noise interfering with your peaceful drive. There are several ways to reduce this. Road noise is the noise generated by your vehicle’s tires moving on the surface of the road. As the tire rolls across the road, you hear the vibration energy of those rattles and shakes as noise. The type of tires that you have and the overall alignment of your car are two big variables to consider when soundproofing your car from road noise. Road conditions such as unpaved road or roads with potholes also contributes to the noise, but obviously these are beyond your control. Wind noise is the whooshing sound you hear in your car when driving on the highway. These can drown out sounds inside. Wind noise happens generally when your door seals are worn out or if your windshield isn't acoustic. Add sound deadening and sound blocking layers to your car door. Upgrading to a acoustic windshield is worth considering. If you hear noise from the floor board, invest in good quality sound barrier to be laid on the floor. Adding sound deadening mats directly to metal on the car floor, firewall, and trunk will reduce this noise to a great extent.

Blaring horns are the foremost culprits of road noise.  An excellent driver will always minimize the use of horns.  Faulty silencers and screeching vehicles are next in the order of road noise creators.

That is something exceptional in my area. I hear unwanted horn sounds and definitely it accounts to noise pollution.

One of my friend has adapted proofing her doors with rubber material and it helped her for sometime. I haven't tried it yet.
