In Montana, you can license and title your car as an on-road or off-road vehicle. On-road license plates are more expensive, as is insurance. So you acquire an ATV plate if you want one for around the ranch and occasional jaunts on county and forest routes. If you wish to operate it as an urban commuter, you must get the proper plates.

I believe Montana state has no state law regarding Subaru Sambar mini trucks, which usually means they are forbidden on state roads.

Nope, you cant since it is prohibited in state roads of Montana.

It's not possible to operate them on State Highways, but you can still use them for local use. You can use these amazing vehicles to fulfill your daily needs and to transport loads to your site and to your workspace.

Permission from the body of the local ordinance is necessary for using a mini truck in Montana.

These trucks are not street legal in Montana. As such they are prohibited to be driven on state roads and highways. But I believe, there are no restrictions on how they can be used on farms or as off-road vehicles.

No they aren't legal. It is strictly prohibited on the streets of Montana.
